Visiting essaouira

I would strongly recommend to anyone visiting Essaouira with passion for horses.

You can see a Portuguese harbor, art, fine woodwork, and a traditional souk during your guided tour of the sights.

After you arrive in the city, get a look at the 15th-century Portuguese port built at the foot of its ramparts. In the medina, you can see Moulay El-Hassan Square, the Grand Mosque, and Siaghine Alley, and the terrace of the north bastion lets you access the marquetry where some of Morocco's best artisans produce elegant cedar crafts.

As you leave the confines of Skala, follow Derb Laalouj Street to the Museum Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdallah.
Here, you can find musical instruments, local Andalusian songs, Berber Imazighen documents, weapons, costumes, carpets, and more. In the north of the city, you can visit the Mellah, Essaouira's Jewish quarter, bordered by a market that extends to Bab Doukkala.
After some time to enjoy the city's beautiful sunny beaches, return to the road for your trip back to Marrakech.

Embark on a private journey to beautiful Essaouira and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of its port and stroll around its medina. Begin your experience with a relaxing drive to Essaouira on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. As you travel, learn about the intriguing history and hear tales of its time under Portuguese rule.

As soon as you set foot on this charming city you’ll feel the ocean breeze. Admire the ancient city halls of the medina, wander around the colorful and buzzing souks and take a look at the local artisans. Your private guide can give you all the answers to your questions and will tell you about Essaouira’s artistic heritage.

Take in the sound of Gnawa music from the vibrant cafés of Moulay El Hassan square and move on to your next stop. Enjoy the walk and soak in hundreds of years of culture and history. Admire the ocher walls and get a glimpse of the local lifestyle. Often, here, you can see locals enjoying their time off and kids playing around and chasing pigeons.

Stroll along the harborside and view the Skala fortress with its wave-lashed ramparts and cannons. You’ll see the colorful and lively spectacle of the return of the boats to the port, with their baskets full of fish. Grant yourself a rare pleasure: try the grilled sardines! Their freshness is incomparable and the atmosphere from the port will forever be engraved in your memory.
